Our Newly Diagnosed with Parkinson’s workshop can connect you with experts and other patients and caregivers. You’ll be able to:

  • Learn from experts on Parkinson’s
  • Get answers to your questions
  • Learn about support and resources

Cost: $10 per couple

Shannon is a physician assistant in the Parkinson Center of Oregon primarily seeing movement disorder patients. She is also a part time faculty member at the OHSU Physician Assistant school. Special interests include Neurology, Movement Disorders, PA education, and Telemedicine. In her spare time, Shannon enjoys spending time with her husband, son and daughter.

Pat and Dan serve as Newly Diagnosed Workshop Facilitators and Board members on the OHSU Park PAC Patient Advisory Committee. They are both retired teachers and enjoy sharing their decades of knowledge around living with Parkinson's to their community, traveling around the world, and staying active.

Married over 40 years, Jeanne and John share a close partnership that has grown stronger as they navigate the challenges of Jeanne's Parkinsons diagnosis while continuing to lead fulfilling lives. They are committed to helping others who are just beginning this journey to find hope and build a positive vision for their future. Their favorite activities include pickleball, kayaking, gardening, reading, singing, ukulele, quilting, writing, hiking, and cooking.

These workshops are designed for patients diagnosed within the past three to five years. Your partner/care partner is encouraged to attend.

In Person Format: The IN PERSON Newly Diagnosed with Parkinson's Workshop will take place at the South Waterfront in Portland by OHSU's Waterfront Campus. The address will be sent in confirmation upon registration. Our in-person workshop takes place between 9:30 - 11:30 am PT. Continental breakfast will be served from 9:30 - 10:00am.

Virtual Format: The VIRTUAL Newly Diagnosed with Parkinson's Workshops will be held via Zoom from 10:00 - 11:30 am PT.
