A day to for us at OHSU Parkinson Center to celebrate non-paid caregivers to those with Parkinson's Disease!

About this event

This event is limited to care partners only. People with Parkinson's, healthcare providers, and paid or agency caregivers, please consider our Essential Tools Workshops

This annual OHSU Parkinson Center program celebrates non-paid, friend and family care partners with special acknowledgement of their sacrifices for their loved ones. We will come together in person on Thursday, February 23 to celebrate, learn new skills, and enjoy the support of one another.

Make sure to arrive at 9:30am to enjoy our Mimosa Reception and sign up for a 5-minute chair massage!

Raffle items generously donated from the following community partners: Trader Joes, Peets Coffee, Made in Oregon, March Wellness, Cheryl's on 12th, Airfield Estates, Happy Baskets Inc, and more!

Registration is limited to 60 attendees.

If the event does reach capacity we will have a waitlist, there are often cancellations the week of an event. 

Itinerary 

9:30am        Mimosa Reception & Chair Massages

10:30am      Falls Prevention: Carla da Silva Batista, PhD | OHSU Gait and Balance Lab

11:30am       Lunch & Raffle

12:15pm       Skills Labs (15min per lab): ask questions in small groups with experts in elder law and advanced care planning, nursing and medication management, hands on caregiving skills, and community connections

1:15pm         Movement Break

1:30pm        Breakout Sessions: we will break into small groups to share what we've learned during the day. This will also be a time to share experiences with each other as care partners to someone with Parkinson's.
