This in person event occurs on Friday, October 25th from 12 - 6pm PT at Eastern Oregon University (One University Blvd, La Grande, OR 97850). This event is presented by the OHSU Parkinson Center.

Jeni has been working with the OHSU Parkinson Center since 2021. She has a background in research and is certified as a Clinical Research Professional by the ACRP. She started her nursing career in the ER and has experience coordinating clinical trials in both neurosurgery and chronic pain as well as working as a case manager in maternal child health, public health, and chronic illness. She enjoys spending time with her young children, playing music, and crafting.

Dr. Vivek Unni joined the Department of Neurology and the OHSU Parkinson Center in September 2011. He is now an Associate Professor, a member of the Jungers Center for Neurosciences Research, and the “John Hammerstad, MD, Professor of Basic Research of Movement Disorders” at OHSU. Vivek received a BS in Chemistry and Biological Sciences from Stanford in 1995. He then earned a MD and PhD from Columbia University in 2003. After a medical internship at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City, he completed a neurology residency and movement disorders fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Brigham & Women’s Hospital. Before joining OHSU, Vivek was an Instructor in Neurology at Harvard Medical School and a clinical and research fellow at Mass General. In his research, Vivek is using in vivo multiphoton imaging to examine the aggregation of alpha-synuclein in mouse models of Parkinson’s Disease (PD) and Lewy Body Dementia (LBD), and a variety of techniques to study the novel hypothesis, developed in his lab, that alpha-synuclein plays unexpected roles in the cell nucleus in DNA repair. In his clinical work, Vivek has a special interest in taking care of people with PD and other disorders of movement. He enjoys treating people with these types of problems and working to make their lives better using the kind of team approach that is possible at OHSU. Outside of medicine his time is primarily spent enjoying his family. He spends much of his free time with them exploring Oregon. He greatly enjoys reading, backpacking, fishing, and college football.

Linda Bryans has more than 35 years of clinical experience with adults and children with a broad range of communication and swallowing disorders. Her primary focus has been in the area of evaluating and treating voice disorders with a specialty in neurogenic voice. Linda has worked closely with the Movement Disorder Program and Parkinson Disease team at OHSU including participation in the Next Step Clinic palliative care team and Deep Brain Stimulation team. She is certified in the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment approach for patients with Parkinson's disease. Linda also has participated in clinical research in the areas of voice, Parkinson Disease, Essential Tremor, DBS, motor speech disorders and dysphagia. She currently is an assistant professor in the Northwest Center for Voice and Swallowing at OHSU as well as an adjunct faculty in the Speech and Hearing Sciences Department at Portland State University.

Katherine "Kate" Bostwick received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Regis University in Denver, Colorado in 2018, going on to work as a physical therapist in St. Luke's Neurological Rehabilitation in Boise ID before joining their Movement Disorders Clinic Team. Born and raised in Eastern Oregon she recently relocated back to the area in 2022 to join the Grand Ronde Hospital physical therapy team for outpatient rehabilitation. She specializes in treatment of those with Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, stroke, balance disorders and general geriatric therapy in the rural health setting. She also performs wheelchair evaluations as part of the complex seating and mobility team, serving La Grande and the surrounding areas. She enjoys bringing neurological rehabilitation skills to the rural health care setting and working as a member of a multidisciplinary team. She is a Board-Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist since 2021 and LSVT BIG certified since 2019. In her free time, she enjoys backpacking, hiking, fly-fishing, playing volleyball and spending time with her family.
